Roman Shades: Roman shades that use “soft fabrics” have not experienced gravity. They are typically stored on a roll until made into a drapery or Roman shade. It is natural for fabrics to “relax” and sometimes lengthen over time. Be sure to add a little extra length to shade, allowing proper clearances for sills. Lining fabric adds structure and can minimize relaxation.

Woven Woods: Woven woods are a natural – and sometimes heavy. These materials may relax over time as well. However, edge binding restricts the natural stretching of woven wood shades. This may result in a bowed center, causing a “smile” at the bottom of the shade, or a pucker just above the bottom batten. The larger the shade, the more pronounced this effect tends to be.

Drapery: Pinch pleat style drapery is named for the pleated look created by pinched gatherings of the fabric at the top of the drape. Ripplefold pleat style is named for the soft, consistent ripples created by the drape as it hangs from the track. It offers an elegant, contemporary look – ideal for both residential and commercial settings.

“We Mean Custom” Winners Show Extreme Ingenuity

AS MARK TWAIN SAID, “the report of my death was an exaggeration.” So, too, are the reports of the death of “custom” in favor of all cookie-cutter systems.  Indeed, there is still a heck of a lot of “custom” in the custom installation market.

That was proven recently by a slew of submissions to the first-ever “We Are Custom” Installation Contest sponsored by Leon Speakers.  The Ann Arbor, Mich.-based loudspeaker manufacturer is known for its ability to provide dealers with “one offs” to solve unique and particularly difficult audio jobs.  So, in conjunction with CE Pro, the company invited dealers to submit their most creative installations.  Here is a glimpse of the winners’ work.

Air flow with style

There are HVAC vents and returns in nearly every room, protruding from the wall and ceiling, casting shadows and disrupting lines.  TRUFIG your registers, returns, and diffusers and provide air flow that is not only functional, but stylish.  Here are a few examples of the standard design patterns we have available.  But know that should you decide you’d rather have your own custom shape or pattern gracing the face of your air registers and diffusers, we have complete custom capabilities to accommodate your request.

Currently, there are four different HVAC register sizes available in the TRUFIG flush-mount system today: 8″ x 4″, 10″ x 6″, 14″ x 8″, and 12″ x 12″.  Of course, these four standard TRUFIG register sizes are just a fraction of the 30 or so “standard ”  sizes of HVAC registers being specified today.  Therefore we encourage you to have discussions early on with your architect so he or she can coordinate with the HVAC design team to specify your system using a combination of four standard TRUFIG register sizes.
